MEGAVOICE for mega-storm victims

Mega typhoon Yolanda carved a path of destruction across eastern and central Philippines with some of the fastest wind speeds on record. Thousands of people have been reported killed or missing and millions of others have been displaced. We have all seen the pictures of the destruction on the news. But what you will not see on the news is that prior to the storm, our MegaVoice office in Singapore was already in partnership with Christians on the ground in the very area of the Philippines that would be hardest hit – Tacloban, Leyte. Our partners were actually in the initial stages of setting up a MegaVoice Media Center to reach people throughout their islands as the typhoon drew nearer. Just 48 hours before the typhoon hit, the local ministry team backpacked several MegaVoice Story Tellers loaded with Scriptures in English, Tagalog and Cebuano languages to the top of a mountain. There they offered prayers of dedication of the players to the glory of God. Shortly after they returned home, the typhoon hit. After days of disconnections – Singapore is now back in communication with the church team in the Tacloban area – and praise God, they are already assisting local authorities and humanitarian groups in every way possible!
