As an associate intern from Bali, Thea thrives on challenges. These challenges, like mountains come in various shapes and sizes. No two mountains are the same. Hills prepare us for the highlands. Mountains develop a confidence that otherwise we might not have recognised … in ourselves.

Thea’s journey begins in facing breast cancer. After a season of soul-searching, she found herself in Singapore. It was a defining moment as she received the healing she was looking for. A staff nurse at a local hospital confirmed what she already knew in her heart to be true. God is good. Journeying requires endurance but also a sense of gratitude for being given a second chance.

The ups and downs will always be there, but as long as we are moving forward in the right direction we should not concern ourselves with the rate of movement. The healing itself presented new and expanded responsibilities that Thea was faithful in, even as she buried her father and was left to pick up the pieces again without family or church support.

Now in the darkest hours immediately after the funeral, she begins to question what she had experienced in Singapore. Mountains top experiences are exhilarating but the crops grow in the valley.
